QIGONG
With Qi symbolizing “life energy” and Gong symbolizing “practice or skill”, Qigong can be loosely translated as “practice of life force energy”. Qigong is an ancient system from China that was developed to increase health, spirituality, and martial art skills. For thousands of years, Qigong was studied by various groups, mostly consisting of: Buddhist and Daoist monks, Confucianists, medical doctors, and martial artists.

Five Branches Institute Students:
Medical Qigong Tablework
As a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qigong incorporates the theory of Yin and Yang in its training to maintain inner strength. Through the observation of patterns in nature, Qigong adepts note the interplay of Yin and Yang through daily, seasonal, and annual cycles. Additionally, longevity meditations, topical and internal herbs, standing and moving postures, and visualizations are often used as tools to enhance the Qigong training.

Generally, the exclusive training of Qigong masters was taught to chosen family members or disciples. Coinciding with the evolutionary shift in human consciousness, a number of Qigong Masters have begun to share their esoteric knowledge. Francesca began her training in Qigong in 1996 and actively incorporates disciplines of Medical Qigong and Golden Shield Qigong into her healing practice.
